Aislin Moss, Psy.D.
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Aislinn Moss brings a thoughtful, relational approach to psychological care, grounded in the belief that understanding ourselves is an important part of creating meaningful change. Her work bridges clinical psychology, forensic assessment, and trauma-informed therapy, helping individuals and couples make sense of their experiences, navigate challenges, and move toward lives that feel more connected, fulfilling, and authentically their own.
Aislinn has worked across inpatient psychiatric institutions, forensic settings, and outpatient private practices, bringing a depth of experience to both therapy and psychological assessment. She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The George Washington University, completed her doctoral internship at Saint Elizabeths Forensic Hospital, and pursued her postdoctoral fellowship at Old Town Psychology.
Her assessment experience includes comprehensive psychological and personality evaluations, competency and risk assessments, evaluations of intellectual and adaptive functioning, and positive behavioral support assessments. She has particular expertise in competency evaluations and restoration, fertility evaluations, and understanding the complex ways trauma, relationships, and psychological functioning intersect.
As a certified Gottman Couples Therapist, Aislinn also works with couples navigating communication challenges, infidelity, relational trauma, and the sometimes difficult work of rebuilding trust and connection. Her clinical approach draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), thoughtfully integrating these approaches to meet each person's needs.
At the heart of Aislinn's work is the relationship itself. She believes that meaningful therapeutic and assessment experiences begin with genuine connection, cultural humility, curiosity, and an environment where people feel respected rather than judged. Whether helping someone understand the results of a psychological evaluation or supporting a couple through a difficult chapter, her goal is to explore not only what is happening, but why, and what might become possible with greater understanding.
Aislinn maintains a private practice in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, where she provides in-person and virtual individual and couples therapy, along with psychological assessments. She is licensed to practice in Virginia and authorized to provide virtual services in most U.S. jurisdictions, subject to applicable restrictions.*
Virtual services are not available in California, Guam, Hawaii, Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
