Jessica Short
Graduate Care Partner
Jessica Short is a Graduate Care Partner with The Holistic Hive and The Honeybee Collective. She is currently pursuing her Master of Education in Counselor Education, with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, at Albany State University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Africana/African Diasporic Studies from Savannah State University.
Originally from Miami, Florida, Jessica found her way to Maryland by way of Savannah, Georgia. Her experiences in education, community engagement, and mental health advocacy have shaped a deeply whole-person approach to care. She understands that no one exists in isolation and that meaningful healing requires space for the family, culture, community, relationships, and lived experiences that shape who we are.
Jessica works with adolescents and adults and has a particular interest in perinatal and postpartum mental health, including the emotional, relational, and identity shifts that can come with pregnancy, parenthood, and changing family dynamics. Her background as an educator also comes into the room with her, bringing curiosity, collaboration, and a natural ability to help people recognize and build on the strengths they already carry.
At the heart of Jessica’s work is connection. She brings warmth, openness, and genuine curiosity to the therapeutic relationship, creating space for clients to feel heard without feeling defined by what brought them to therapy. Jessica believes care should make room for the whole story while helping people better understand themselves, strengthen what is already working, and create meaningful change in the parts of life that are not.
